Level:Beginner / Fundamentals LTAD
Entry Standards:Swim 25m continously front crawl with bi-lateral breathing + 25m of back or breastroke
Commitment:2x/week
Competitions:Marlin Annual Invitational
Goals:Primary - swim the 100 IM and 200 Free within the rules.
Secondary - 200 IM, 100m kick under 2:59

Our introductory group for swimmers is aimed to teach them the fundamentals of all 4 strokes, starts, turns as well as breathing, kicking and sculling skills.

Athletes are introduced to the principles of training properly such as circle swimming, clock usage and rules of the sport. The focus is on skill perfection of the basics. 


Blue

Blue was created to fit the needs of those swimmers between Mini Marlins and Bronze. Swimmers will continue to develop all four strokes, starts and turns and work on reading the clock.

These swimmers can swim our home meet and other regional meets. 

Bronze

Commitment:3x/week with flexible to moderate expectation

This Level furthers the development of all 4 strokes and training principles. Training starts to include aerobic and speed development. An increase in participation is encouraged as well as a positive attitude towards challenges. 

Silver

Level:Intermediate / Training to Train LTAD
Entry Standards:200 IM 3:29 / 400 Free 6:19
Commitment:5x/week with moderate to high expectation

Primary: Divisional Time Standards

Secondary: Provincial Time Standards / Podium at Divisionals

This level is a key component to steer swimmers on the right path towards swimming as their main sport. There is an increased expectation in all areas but specifically attendance and attitude.

Training has a long-term focused approach towards  seasonal goals and prioritizing specifics that will enhance their abilities at older ages. 

Gold

Level:Advanced / Training to Train-Compete LTAD
Standards:Divisionals
Commitment:6x/week  with high expectation 90+%
Competitions:Regional, Provincial, National
Goals:

Primary: Podium Divisionals / Finals Provincials

Secondary: Podium Provincials / National time standards

Equipment:Suit, Googles, Cap, Kick Board, Pull Buoy, Paddles, Fins, Tempo Trainers, Snorkels

This is the elite swimmers of the Marlins. A high standard of commitment & attitude towards training, competition & personal achievement is expected.

Training is tailored towards long-term success and excellence so that swimmers have the opportunity to swim at the University and National levels. It will be individualized, where possible.

Swim Fit exists for those swimmers who come out of either Bronze, Silver or Gold that wish to keep swimming at a recreational level.


By continuing to train in their teenage years swimmers can move into other life streams in swimming such as lifeguarding, triathlons, or teaching.
